Music is and always has been an important part of the church. Here at Pennington the ultimate goal of our music is to give praise to God. We seek to give the members of the church and those attending the worship services opportunities both to worship and to lead in worship through our music program. Sanctuary Choir:The Sanctuary Choir sings weekly in the Sunday morning worship service. They present larger musicals and cantatas on special occasions. Pennington is very fortunate to have a large amount of talent. The Sanctuary Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30. The Sanctuary Choir is open to person's from the seventh grade upward. The ability to read music is not a requirement to participate in the choir. Children's Choir:Pennington's children rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 6:20. They perform throughout the year for the congregation. They also do special musical plays for holidays such as Christmas. Instrumental Ensemble:The Instrumental Ensemble is a part of regular worship at Pennington. They rehearse on Sunday Morning before the Sunday School hour at 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. The group performs throughout the year at regular worship services, special worship services such as Holy Week and are frequently featured at our Christmas and Easter programs. Ensembles:Pennington is indeed fortunate for the talent within our church. This allows us to have numerous ensembles as part of our worship experience. The ensemble groups range from "Country Gospel" to "Gospel Quartettes" to the Ladies Choir. Other Musical Opportunities:We are always seeking to find areas in which to grow and develop our music ministries here at Pennington. If you are a church member, or are thinking about joining our church, and you have an area of musical talent or interest please let us know. We would be happy to talk to you about how you could contribute to the music ministries of Pennington United Methodist Church.
